Social Media, Digital Storytelling & Communications Intern
Nature & Oceans Adventures (NOA) is looking for a creative, motivated, and highly organized Social Media, Digital Storytelling & Communications Intern to help us communicate our conservation work, educational programs, field experiences, and impact to a global audience.
This position is ideal for a university student in their final year who has experience in graphic design, video creation, storytelling, and social media, and who wants to build a professional portfolio while contributing to a nonprofit conservation organization.
Position Details

- Location: Remote
- Type: Internship
- Time commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per week
- Team meetings: 1–2 remote meetings per week
- Academic level: Preferably final-year university student
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
- Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and other platforms.
- Develop and edit short-form videos, reels, stories, and other digital content.
- Create visually compelling graphics, carousels, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Transform photographs, videos, scientific information, and field experiences into compelling stories.
- Develop creative storytelling concepts that communicate NOA's mission and impact.
- Write engaging captions and short-form content.
- Research social media trends and identify creative ways to adapt them to NOA.
- Help develop and maintain a social media content calendar.
Graphic Design & Digital Catalogs
- Design two professional digital catalogs showcasing NOA's programs and experiences.
- Organize program information, photographs, testimonials, and visual elements into attractive and easy-to-navigate catalogs.
- Help establish a consistent visual identity across NOA's digital communications.
- Create additional promotional materials for programs, campaigns, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives.
Interviews & Storytelling
- Conduct interviews with students, educators, researchers, conservationists, team members, and partners.
- Prepare interview questions and develop story concepts.
- Record and/or coordinate interviews remotely when appropriate.
- Edit interviews into engaging written, video, or social media content.
- Identify powerful stories and quotes that can communicate NOA's impact.
- Help develop a library of interviews and stories that can be used across NOA's website, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
Collaboration
- Work closely with NOA's conservation, education, partnerships, and communications teams.
- Participate in weekly team meetings and contribute creative ideas.
- Collaborate remotely with other interns on ongoing projects.
- Help document and communicate NOA's conservation projects and student experiences.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in university, preferably in your final year of study.
- Experience creating content for social media.
- Experience with graphic design.
- Experience creating and editing video content.
- Strong storytelling and visual communication skills.
- Experience or interest in conducting and recording interviews.
- Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
- Creative, proactive, organized, and willing to take initiative.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar platforms is highly valued.
A portfolio of graphic design, video, photography, social media, or storytelling work is strongly encouraged.
