Production assistant for syndicated punk rock radio show

JXB Media is currently seeking candidates who would like to be part of our organization in the role of radio and podcasting production assistant.
Nature of the position: Radio and podcasting production assistant
In this role for JXB Media, the student will contribute to the production of a weekly produced, globally syndicated radio program that airs in 5 different countries and is based around punk rock.
General duties will include:
- using pre produced research to copyright, write and edit information to put into voice over scripts
- Helping to program the show with song suggestions and general knowledge or ability to research them
- Contributing to ideas for segments, sets and stopsets
- Contributing to creation of materials for social media advertising
- General producer duties where needed.
We would love someone who is into punk rock and considers themselves a punk. If you think you're weird or strange or don't fit in in most places, this is where you need to be.

At JXB media we do many things, including the production of THE GLORIOUS BEARD, a podcast about Beards and beard culture involving human interest stories, historical narratives, music, pop culture, movies, and more. Requirements:
This position will require an average of 10 hours per week.
Student will be required to:
- Learn the ins and outs of audio and media production
- Have a desire to learn new skills and become a better person
- Assist with outreach to sponsors and guests for our podcast
- Assist with syndication and advertising for our radio show
- Assist with social media assets and virality
- Assist in a variety of assigned tasks, sometimes with the expectation of them being completed with haste.
- Communicate with team members through discord app.
Communicate clearly, honestly, often and be yourself.
Be able to take advice and ongoing training from professionals with over 30 years combined experience.
Know how to look things up on the internet.
This position requires someone who is into punk rock music. If you are not into punk rock music, please do not apply.
Expectations/responsibilities for interns:
As a part of JXB Media, the student will be working closely with other interns, professionals and well seasoned veterans of the audio, radio and television industry, remotely, through the use of teamwork apps and other applicable softwares such as google suite, zoom, dropbox, discord, etc.
This includes but is not limited to: Audio and video production, hosting, writing, research, script writing, non linear video editing, line producing, distribution for syndication, marketing, social media management, asset management, cataloging and other duties as assigned.
Student will be supervised and/or mentored by trained professionals with 30+ years combined experience and required to have a weekly meeting with the program director to discuss progress, goals, ongoing mentoring, etc. This is conducted remotely over zoom, google meet, discord video, etc.
Approx. expected working hours at minimum per week: 10

Student should expect and acknowledge the following:
- This position is strictly for internship/volunteer purposes and is non paid.
- The extent of the students training will involve working with software commonly available or like that of what would be found in a commercial radio station and/or media production entity.
- Students may also learn performance techniques for radio/video DJ/presenting, along with other applicable skills, attributes, and necessities that someone in media would be required to know.
- Students seeking internship credit should check with their career center, advisor or otherwise department in charge of their internship credits to make their credit valid.
- Interns at JXB Media are not guaranteed or promised any form of employment or compensation either during or after their internship is complete.
