Describe the job duties here in plain language. Focus on the most important aspects of the role.

Description - External

**This posting is hiring for three positions within the division.

Where We Need You:

Ohio EPA wants you to serve in this role within our Division of Surface Water.

Why We Need You:

As a Seasonal Environmental Intern with Ohio EPA, you’ll help protect Ohio’s water resources while gaining hands‑on experience in environmental permitting and wastewater oversight. You’ll work side‑by‑side with technical staff to support real‑world regulatory projects by performing tasks such as:

Collecting and summarizing wastewater data for Permit to Install (PTI) applications, to assist technical staff with evaluating treatment system capacity, treatment design, and environmental impact.

Reviewing PTI applications and detailed plans for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with state environmental rules and standards.

Compiling and organizing key data for wastewater discharge permits to support the regulatory process that protects water quality across the state.

Preparing reports and tabulating technical information to turn raw data into clear summaries used by technical staff and decision-makers.

Assisting with field inspections at wastewater treatment plants to observe operations firsthand and help document a facility’s permit compliance.

This is a great opportunity to learn about environmental permitting, see how wastewater systems function up close, and assist with the vital work we do to protect Ohio’s waterways.

If you’re detail‑oriented, curious, and eager to contribute, we’d love to have you join us this fall!
