Event Production Volunteer
Bitcoin For The Arts (BFTA) is a small Columbus-friendly 501(c)(3) nonprofit that pays working artists in Bitcoin. This September we're producing Bitcoin Arts Park — a two-day cultural showcase inside the Midwest Bitcoin Summit — and we're looking for 1–2 CCAD student volunteers to help us build it, run it, and strike it.
Bitcoin Arts Park includes:
• A live-music Secondary Stage anchored by touring artist Ainsley Costello
• A visual art gallery with a peer-to-peer silent auction
• A Film Cinema screening independent Bitcoin-aligned documentaries, including Dirty Coin
• A children's-book author reading with Mississippi author Lindey Magee
• A Living Room with a Lightning wallet activation and merchandise counter
You will work directly with BFTA's production engineer and executive director across load-in, both show days, and load-out. This is a real production role on a real event, not a "hold this sign for two hours" volunteer shift. Portfolio-quality experience.
What you'll do:
• Assist with load-in and physical setup of booth, stage, gallery, and Film Cinema
• Provide day-of support during the two show days — audio/sound assist for performances, staffing merch, guiding attendees to programming, general run-of-show support
• Assist with load-out
• Contribute additional as-needed hours in the days leading up to load-in, coordinated 1:1 with your class schedule
Requirements:
• 18 or older
• CCAD student in good academic standing (any major; production, sound, film, industrial design, and graphic design backgrounds are especially useful but not required)
• Reliable, communicative, professional demeanor
• Comfortable on your feet for extended periods
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds
• Available for the full run (load-in through load-out) — if you can only do the show days, tell us anyway and we'll consider it
Compensation:
• $150 honorarium per student, paid in Bitcoin at the close of the event (BFTA provides a free wallet-setup walkthrough for students new to Bitcoin)
• Meals provided during shifts
• BFTA event gear
• On-camera credit in the professionally produced Midwest Summit recap
• Written reference letter available on request
• Networking access with Bitcoin-native artists, filmmakers, and nonprofit leaders
