Paid Research Advisory Board Member, ENDSight Study
The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center’s ENDSight Study is seeking young adults ages 18 to 25 to serve on a paid research advisory board.
ENDSight is a research study focused on young adults’ experiences and perspectives related to e-cigarettes. Advisory board members will help the study team develop messages and materials that feel relevant, engaging, and attention-grabbing to young adult participants.
This is a fully online, short-term advisory opportunity. It is a good fit for students or young adults interested in public health, communication, digital content, social media, health research, psychology, sociology, marketing, or related fields.
We are especially interested in creative, social media-savvy young adults who are comfortable sharing honest feedback and ideas. Familiarity with e-cigarettes or vaping culture is helpful, but not required.
Responsibilities
Advisory board members may be asked to:
• Review draft study messages or participant-facing materials
• Suggest creative message ideas
• Provide feedback on tone, clarity, humor, relevance, and engagement
• Share perspectives on trends, pop culture references, and communication styles that may appeal to young adults
• Participate in up to one virtual advisory meeting per study wave, if needed
• Complete written feedback by email, survey, shared document, or online form
Advisory board members will not conduct research activities with participants, collect data from participants, provide clinical advice, or access identifiable participant information.
Qualifications
Applicants should be:
• 18 to 25 years old
• Comfortable participating in a fully online opportunity
• Creative and willing to share ideas
• Comfortable giving honest feedback on messages and materials
• Interested in communication, public health, research, social media, digital content, or young adult engagement
No research experience is required.
Time Commitment
The expected time commitment is approximately 4 to 6 hours total during the contract period. Activities may include a virtual advisory meeting, review of draft materials, and written feedback.
The time commitment will not exceed 10 hours total without additional compensation.
Contract Period
The contract period will begin once selected applicants complete all required onboarding and contractor paperwork. The current contract period ends April 30, 2027.
