Junior Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Graphic Designer / Administrator supports the Transportation Studio by providing graphic production, shop drawing and production file development, document management, project tracking, and production coordination. The position reports directly to the Studio Coordinator / Senior Graphic Designer, who provides day-to-day work assignments, design direction, and project oversight. The Junior Graphic Designer also collaborates with and supports Project Managers on project-related tasks, coordination efforts, and deliverables as needed to maintain efficient project execution and accurate documentation throughout all project phases.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Coordination & Communication
• Generate and submit signage packages and project deliverables to clients as directed by the Studio Coordinator and Project Manager.
• Monitor assigned project deliverables and communicate potential delays or scheduling concerns to the Studio Coordinator and Project Manager.
• Attend weekly studio meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks and deliverables.
• Support the tracking and organization of incoming directives, RFIs, ASIs, field orders, submittals, and shop drawings while maintaining accurate project records and communication logs.
• Attend client-facing meetings and project coordination meetings as requested to support the Studio Coordinator and Project Manager.

Design & Production Support
• Create and revise shop drawings, production files, and design documentation in accordance with project requirements and direction provided by the Studio Coordinator.
• Apply established client standards, brand guidelines, and PAG design standards to assigned project work.
• Perform design revisions and redline updates as directed by the Studio Coordinator.
• Assist with production coordination, product preparation, and logistics with internal production teams, installation teams, and outside vendors.
• Support quality review efforts by assisting with inspection of completed products prior to installation to help verify alignment with approved design intent and project specifications.
• Assist with coordinating production materials, specifications, and vendor documentation as assigned.
• Participate in site visits as needed to support site readiness verification, scheduling coordination, and installation tracking.

Documentation & Systems
• Save, organize, and maintain project-related documentation within company cloud-based storage platforms, including contracts, revisions, vendor coordination, and project closeout documentation.
• Ensure project drawings, installation reports, and related project files are current, organized, and properly uploaded within designated cloud-based systems.
• Maintain organized digital project file directories and assist with documentation updates as needed.
• Support scheduling coordination and installation tracking updates within company project management systems.

Team Participation & Development
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of key client sign programs, including sign type nomenclature, design standards, fabrication methods, material specifications, and installation requirements.
• Develop proficiency in sign fabrication methods, production workflows, shop drawing preparation, and project documentation standards.
• Attend process improvement, training, and coordination meetings as required via MS Teams or in person.
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn company project management, fabrication, and design workflows.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 0–2 years of professional graphic design experience; internship or academic project experience considered
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Experience interpreting architectural plans, construction documents, or wayfinding systems is a plus.
• Experience with CorelDraw and Bluebeam Studio is beneficial
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including MS Teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow design and production specifications accurately
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Candidate must have strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading abilities
• Eagerness to learn sign fabrication processes, shop drawing preparation, and project management workflows
• Demonstrate efficient time management skills by executing design scope within expected time frames, as assigned by Studio Coordinator.
