SFLIG Volunteers invites passionate university students and recent graduates to join our educational support program in beautiful Ghana. This program is designed as a hands-on, unpaid international internship. It is ideal for students majoring Education and Social Work who are looking to gain real-world field experience and earn university course credit."
In many of our grassroots partner communities, local primary and junior high schools face severe resource shortages and crowded classrooms. By stepping into this role, you will act as a vital cross-cultural resource—bringing fresh energy to classrooms, bridging educational gaps, and inspiring young minds while gaining unforgettable global perspectives.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
* Classroom Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with local headteachers to assist with daily lessons, grading, and innovative classroom management.
* Core Subject Tutoring: Help plan and facilitate interactive learning sessions for foundational subjects like English conversational skills, basic Mathematics, and General Sciences.
* Creative Workshops: Bring your unique hobbies across the globe! Design and lead extracurricular activities in drawing, painting, music, or sports to build child confidence and cognitive creativity.
* One-on-One Mentorship: Provide patient, targeted reading and arithmetic support to bright children who just need individual attention to catch up.
What We Are Looking For (Qualifications)
* All Majors Welcome: No formal teaching degree, licensing, or TEFL certificate is required! We value empathy, drive, and adaptability above all.
* Skills: Excellent communication, cross-cultural curiosity, patience, and a highly collaborative spirit.
* Cultural Respect: An eagerness to learn about, respect, and fully immerse yourself in Ghanaian culture, traditions, and the local lifestyle.

Academic Credit & Internship Path." SFLIG Volunteers gladly collaborates with universities to help students secure academic credit. We provide official supervisor sign-offs, mid-term/final evaluations, and customized learning hours to satisfy your department's internship. Upon successful completion, volunteers receive an official Certificate of Appreciation and formal Letters of Recommendation serving as long-term professional references for future academic or career goals as well as academic credit.
Please note: As a grassroots NGO, our international programs are self-funded. Selected participants cover an affordable, structured program placement fee that directly manages secure accommodation, local food, in-country staff operations, and community project donations. Placements operate all-year-round with highly flexible durations starting from a minimum of 2 weeks.
