About the Role
We are a local custom and semi-custom cabinet dealer for residential interiors working primarily with builders and contractors, seeking a cabinet design intern who will assist with managing the needs of our growing customer base. This is a stepping stone to a permanent position.
An ideal candidate should:
- Have a degree in or working on a degree in interior design or a related field (architecture, etc.).
- Be proficient with Cyncly 2020/Design Flex (required) and AutoCAD (preferred but not necessary).
- Be able to work both independently and on a team towards shared goals.
- Have a customer service-first attitude. Our service is what sets us apart! Communicate, communicate, communicate!
- Be willing to learn how to draft custom cabinetry designs, size custom panels/built in appliances, and read/interpret appliance specifications as they relate to cabinet design.
- Have the ability to conceptualize and suggest cabinetry finishes, materials, and styles while working within budgetary, timeline, or other limitations.
- Have a high degree of organization, communication and time management as it relates to competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Have strong written communication and interpersonal communication skills.
- The desire to become familiar with construction and working with contractors and other trades.
- Have a legal driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
- Be willing to undergo a background check.
- Provide proof of work authorization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Applicants will be required to perform many tasks. Including, but not limited to:
- Generate leads via phone calls, email, social media outreach, networking, and physical “door knocking” at builder’s offices, etc.
- Follow up with leads and generate quotes based on floor plan drawings, sketches, elevations, etc.
- Visit job sites, obtain accurate measurements, and work directly with the client, architect, interior designer, or builder to develop cabinetry designs.
- Present cabinetry designs to customers, accept feedback, and tailor the design to the client’s needs.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, builders, etc. to coordinate cabinet delivery and installation.
- Communicate installation plan with installers to ensure designs are followed.
- Take a project from start to finish while being precise, communicative, responsive, and ensuring the final product is delivered according to our standards.
