Music Teacher (Piano, Violin, Voice, Guitar & Drums) — Thoven Online Music Academy

Thoven is currently seeking experienced and passionate music instructors to join our growing online music academy. We’re looking for teachers who are excited about inspiring K–12 students, building long-term relationships with families, and growing their independent studios with the support of modern teaching tools and administrative support.

We also encourage instructors who teach additional instruments beyond those listed above. If your primary instrument is not listed, feel free to share more about your teaching background during the interview process.

What You'll Do

• Teach engaging private music lessons to K–12 students of all skill levels online or in-person
• Use Thoven’s built-in teaching tools to track student progress, assign homework, and share session notes and updates with families
• Manage your availability, lesson schedule, and students through the Thoven platform
• Maintain a consistent teaching schedule while upholding Thoven’s standards of instruction
• Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence

Compensation

• Instructors set their own hourly rates
• Teachers in our network typically earn $50–$120/hour
• This is a 1099 independent contractor position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Performance, Music Education, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of private teaching experience in at least one of the following: Piano, Violin, Voice, Guitar, or Drums
• Candidates with an active teaching studio and at least 1 existing private student are strongly preferred
• Must be comfortable teaching online
• US-based and fluent in English

Joining Bonus

Instructors who join Thoven and transfer a minimum of one existing student to the platform within 14 days of onboarding will receive a $50 bonus per student transferred.
