About the Role
We are an early-stage, fast-moving startup focused on developing innovative technologies for resource recovery and sustainable materials. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Part-Time Metallurgical Laboratory Technician to support ongoing research, prototyping, and testwork programs. This is an excellent opportunity for students or early-career individuals interested in metallurgy, chemical engineering, mining, or applied laboratory research to gain practical experience in a dynamic R&D environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of laboratory test protocols
- Perform metallurgical and chemical experiments under supervision
- Support sample preparation, handling, and processing
- Accurately record experimental data and maintain detailed logs
- Input and organize data using Excel and internal tracking tools
- Assist with setup, operation, and cleanup of laboratory equipment
- Support ongoing prototype and pilot-scale testing activities
- Follow and maintain laboratory safety and operational guidelines
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in a STEM field, with basic laboratory knowledge and hands-on familiarity with standard lab practices
- Strong interest in applied laboratory work and research
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, simple analysis)
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred (Not Required)
- Prior laboratory or research experience
- Familiarity with metallurgical testwork (leaching, flotation, etc.)
- Experience with data logging and experimental reporting
