Product Development Assistant (Apparel)

MTAR, LLC is looking for a Product Development Assistant to support our team across apparel development and production. This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone interested in learning the full product lifecycle, from artwork setup to production and sampling.
We’re seeking someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team environment.
What You’ll Do
- Help collect, review, and organize client artwork for various decoration methods (screen print, embroidery, sublimation, etc.)
- Prepare and update artwork files to ensure they are production-ready (sizing, placement, formatting)
- Communicate with clients and vendors regarding artwork updates or questions
- Maintain organized file systems and ensure correct versions are shared with internal teams and suppliers
- Assist with color matching across Pantone (PMS), TPG, and TCX
- Review strike-offs and trim samples for accuracy before client approval
- Support trim and packaging development (labels, hangtags, polybags, etc.)
- Assist with sample organization, shipping, and basic product development tasks
- Provide occasional administrative support to the sales team (follow-ups, simple presentations, etc.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 1–2 years of experience in apparel, design, or production (internships count)
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Clear communication skills and willingness to learn
- Must be based in the Kansas City area and able to commute as needed
- Valid U.S. passport (or ability to obtain one)
Preferred:
- Familiarity with apparel decoration methods or trims
- Understanding of basic color systems (Pantone, TPG, TCX)
- Experience working with Excel or Google Sheets
- Spanish language skills are a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 – $60,000, based on experience

Work Setup
- Hybrid schedule after training:
- 4 weeks in-office to start
- Then 1–2 days in office / 3–4 days remote
- Must be local to Kansas City
