Chemistry Stockroom Assistant

Department: Chemistry

Position Title: Chemistry Stockroom Student Work-Study Assistant

Requirements:

  • Must be work-study eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
  • Must be able to work on campus

Position Summary:

The Student Assistant provides operational support to the Chemistry Stockroom Department. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare chemical solutions for teaching and research laboratories
  • Conduct inventory counts of laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Complete tasks in a fast-paced environment, such as preparing solutions, setting up pH meters, and assisting with computer programs for assay analysis
  • Work with and handle hazardous waste and gas tanks
  • Comply with safety regulations and departmental procedures
  • Organize laboratory materials and stockroom supplies
  • Perform other office or departmental duties as needed

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Work-study eligibility
  • Some chemistry laboratory experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Punctuality and reliability during scheduled work hours
  • Ability to coordinate schedules and tasks with other Student Assistants
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Friendly and professional customer service skills
