Grant Research Intern – Washington, DC

Thrive Hair Bar is seeking a Grant Research Intern to help identify and organize funding opportunities that align with our mission and initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys structured research.

Thrive Hair Bar is a growing salon brand with two locations in the DMV area. Our mission is to normalize natural hair in all settings, including those personal, professional, and luxurious. 

 

 

What You’ll Do

This internship focuses on research & analysis, and education. Responsibilities include:

  • Research active and upcoming grant opportunities from various sources including foundations, government programs, and private organizations
  • Compile and maintain a detailed, organized grant list of relevant opportunities.
  • Track key information including:
    Grant purpose and eligibility requirements
    • Application open dates and submission deadlines
    • Award amounts and funding ranges
    • Required application materials and documentation
    • Submission format and process

       
  • Flag high-priority opportunities that align closely with the company’s programs and goals

 

 

Ideal Role For

  • Someone interested in nonprofit work, business development, policy, research, or grant writing  and who wants hands-on exposure to how organizations identify and pursue funding opportunities.
  • This role is perfect for someone who finds satisfaction in thorough research, precision, and building well-organized information systems that help a company grow.

 

 

Commitment

  • 3-month internship (with opportunity to renew for an additional 3 months based on performance)
  • Submit work at least once per week
  • In-person presence required at least once per month in DC
