Job Title: Intern, People & Culture (HR)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Location: New York, NY

Worksite Status: Hybrid (Position requires being on-site a minimum of four days per week with some flexibility.)

Beam Living’s Internship Program is a 10-week immersive program where you will not only learn and grow in your respective field but also have the opportunity to be mentored by one of our awesome teammates and participate in a weekly leadership development seminar.   

 

The program will begin on Monday, June 1, 2026, and end on Friday, August 7, 2026.

What you will do: 

  • Help audit and maintain people files and other official People & Culture documents.
  • Source potential candidates for open positions and schedule interviews.
  • Assist with planning and executing team member engagement events. 
  • Ensure we deliver a warm welcome to every single person who joins our team.
  • Identify potential opportunities for us to streamline and simplify existing processes. 
  • Support Benefits Administrator by drafting benefits related communications and monitoring leave processes.
  • Perform necessary teammate relations tasks in accordance with establishing a positive employment relationship and promoting a high level of morale and motivation.
  • Champion a culture founded upon the shared purpose of creating great places for people to live, work, and grow.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements.
  • Deliver compassionate, authentic customer service by responding to team member inquiries quickly and efficiently.  
  • Collaborate with peers on a Capstone Project - Over the course of the internship, interns will take on a real business challenge, build a capstone project around it, and present your innovative solution to leaders across the company.
  • The ability to connect with others to keep the team aligned and focused. 
  • An analytical ability to collect and use information to solve complex problems. 
  • The discipline and willingness to do what needs to be done.
  • A lovefor taking on challenging tasks and solving difficult problems. 
  • A desire to grow and take on increasing responsibility. 
  • An interest in multifamily property management in New York City is a huge plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in commercial or multi-family property management would be a huge plus.
  • Meet with an assigned mentor on a bi-weekly basis to discuss job performance and future career goals. 

 

What you should have: 

  • Successful, ambitious College Junior or Senior currently completing a degree in the Human Resources field or a related field to the internship position.

Base Salary: $30.00/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience & location.
