Music Lessons Arizona is seeking a classically trained piano instructor to join our teaching team and support our growing group piano class program and private lesson track for children.
This role is ideal for an early-career piano educator who values strong technique, enjoys working with children, and is excited to teach within a structured curriculum while being mentored by an experienced artistic director.

Our piano program emphasizes:
Proper technique, posture, and musical foundations
Early fluency in rhythm, reading, and coordination
A group class format designed to build confidence and musicality
A higher private-lesson track for motivated students
Our Artistic Director of Piano holds a master’s degree in collaborative piano and sets the technical and pedagogical standards for the program.
Responsibilities
Group Piano Classes
Teach weekly class piano sessions for children
Follow our established class piano curriculum
Maintain a positive, energetic, and structured classroom environment
Adapt teaching to different learning styles while staying aligned with curriculum goals
Private Piano Lessons
Teach weekly 30- and 60-minute private lessons
Work primarily with beginner to early-intermediate students
Inherit and support a small group of existing private students
Reinforce proper technique, posture, and musical foundations
Communication & Professionalism
Communicate clearly and professionally with parents
Stay organized with scheduling and lesson preparation
Be receptive to feedback, mentorship, and ongoing training
Represent the studio professionally and consistently
Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
Formal classical piano training (degree completed or in progress)
Strong understanding of piano technique and foundations
Excellent sight-reading skills
Minimum 3 years of teaching experience
Experience teaching private piano lessons
Comfortable working with children and families
Reliable, organized, and open to following a curriculum
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching group piano classes
Background in voice or familiarity with vocal fundamentals
Exposure to competition or adjudication-style preparation
Familiarity with American repertoire (Disney, musical theater, popular music)
Interest in professional growth and long-term collaboration

Schedule & Compensation
~12 hours per week (group classes + private lessons)
In-person teaching at our Tempe studio
$32 to $42/hour depending on experience
