Band Intern - Spring 2026

The Service Programming Department plays a crucial role in producing high-quality Weekend Services both online and in person, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and innovative approaches to enhance the worship experience. Its mission is to create awesome worship experiences that reflect how we value God, and that people love to attend.
The Band Intern would report directly to the Band Director. This position would be involved in playing an instrument in the band weekly as a part of weekend services, as well as working with the high school band in training and development. Ability to play one of the following instruments is required, more than one instrument is a plus: Guitar, Bass, Keys, Drums. Singing is also a helpful skill for this position, and could open the door for possibly singing on stage with the band as well. Experience playing in a band is also a plus. Candidates would also work closely with the staff on pre-rehearsal and production work, managing student development tracks, working with the Music Tech Intern on tracks using Ableton,
Additionally, this position may qualify for school credit. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. This position is located on-site in Hoboken, NJ. We have a rolling interview process, so we encourage you to apply soon!
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for music and playing an instrument with a group
- Ability to play Drums, Guitar, Bass, or Piano is a requirement. An audition is part of the interview process.
- Familiarity with DAW, such as Ableton Live, Logic, or ProTools, is a plus
- Comfortable playing and being expressive on stage
- Knowledge of music theory, major and minor chords & scales, and the Nashville Number System
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for working with youth (middle and/or high school) is a plus
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must be able to work on-site
- Must be available on Saturdays and Sundays
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Band Director in music programming and executing for Weekend Services and VIBE Services
- Gain hands-on experience in directing a team, music directing, arranging, and playing various styles of music
- Assist in pre-production work alongside staff members
SCHEDULE
- February 10 - April 23, 2026
- Part-time, 15 - 20 hours per week, depending on the candidate
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- $500 stipend at the end of the internship
