Studio Art Director

Studio Art Director

Location: Camps Kenwood and Evergreen (K&E) in Wilmot, NH

Dates: June 11 - August 8, 2026

Starting Salary: $5000 + $150 travel allowance

Time Off: 2-3 hours per day and 1 day per week

Perks: We provide housing, meals, and snacks for the whole summer! Laundry is on-site, bathrooms are inside cabins, and our lake is private.

We are so excited you found this opportunity at Camps K&E! We believe it’s never too late to go to sleep-away camp, and that there’s no job more fun or fulfilling than caring for and mentoring kids in a beautiful, natural setting. At K&E, you’ll spend your days outside leading, laughing, creating, and being part of a supportive community you won’t experience anywhere else.

Camp is hard work: high-energy, long hours, but deeply rewarding. We’re looking for people who like a challenge and are passionate about making a difference. We truly believe this isn’t just a summer job. It’s a chance to grow, unplug, make lifelong friends, and develop durable, real-world skills. We can’t wait to meet you!

What You'll Do:

  • Take charge of The Studio, our new arts and crafts space, creating an organized, fun, and engaging environment for campers of all ages and abilities
  • Design, plan, and run daily programming during Studio Blocks, including drawing, painting, print making, sculpture, architecture, fiber arts, tie-dye, and more!
  • Develop and maintain an organized system for 60+ campers checking into and out of various stations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal confusion
  • Support the Ceramics, Wood Shop, Cooking, and Visual Arts Specialists in program design, implementation, and collaboration
  • Provide clear instructions and support to counselors, helping them understand how to assist campers and manage different activities
  • Give campers every opportunity to explore, experiment, return to ongoing projects, collaborate with peers, or work independently
  • Maintain and inspect the Studio space, program, equipment, and supplies, and report needs or concerns to the Program Director
  • Maintain a quiet, calming area in the Studio for campers who need a chaos break

Bonus: We love getting our staff certified in lifeguarding and high ropes (mostly belaying from the ground). If you’re interested, we can train you at camp for free – you’d just arrive at staff training a few days earlier. Additionally, if you’d rather get lifeguard certified at your local pool, we can cover the cost of the course!

About K&E: We are a traditional, long-session brother-sister overnight camp situated beside the gorgeous Eagle Pond. We’re two hours from Boston, but our campers (ages 7-15) and staff come from all over the world. Campers and staff also embark on trips to local attractions, mountains, and beaches throughout the summer.
