Summer Camp Teachers & Assistant Teachers
We are busy planning for an exciting 10-week Summer 2026 camp season here at the Center School in Greenfield, Ma, and we hope you will be part of it! Our team is seeking energetic, compassionate, and curious staff members who are dedicated to creating a joyful, engaging, and supportive summer experience for every camper.
All staff members should:
- Bring a positive attitude, a sense of curiosity, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Be reliable, collaborative team players who support one another throughout the full camp day.
- Communicate clearly and kindly with campers, families, and co-workers.
- Create an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all.
Lead Teachers
- $1000 per full week
- $800 for the 4-day week
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement engaging weekly lesson plans centered around the weekly theme and hands-on activities.
- Lead daily programming for a group of up to 20 campers.
- Supervise and collaborate with 1–2 Assistant Teachers, ensuring smooth group operations.
- Foster a positive, safe, and structured environment where campers feel seen, supported, and encouraged.
- Communicate daily with program leadership regarding schedules, needs, and group updates.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to lead with warmth, enthusiasm, and flexibility.
- Confident in managing group dynamics with patience and empathy.
- Enjoys creating curriculum rich with exploration, movement, creativity, and curiosity.
Assistant Teachers
- $800 per week
- $640 for the 4-day week
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work directly with a group of up to 20 campers in a highly interactive, camper-facing role.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with campers throughout the week.
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily activities, transitions, and program tasks.
- Encourage participation and help create an inclusive, safe environment.
- Serve as a positive role model who is empathetic, encouraging, attentive, and fun.
- Support problem-solving, conflict resolution, and social-emotional needs with kindness.
- Help maintain materials, activity spaces, and smooth daily flow.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to jump in wherever needed.
- Comfortable leading games, supporting arts and crafts, joining outdoor activities, and helping campers explore new experiences.
- Collaborative attitude and willingness to learn from Lead Teachers and peers.
- Displays patience, creativity, and a joyful spirit throughout each day.
Hours & Schedule
- Staff Hours: 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
- Camp Day: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Program runs for 10 weeks from June 15 to Aug 21
