USC ATRI Student Summer Research Program (Undergraduate Track)
The USC Keck School of Medicine Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) Student Summer Research Program is an eight-week, full-time, in-person, immersive, mentor-guided summer research training program in San Diego, CA, with the aim to increase the number of highly motivated students who are interested in considering a career in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) clinical trials. Students will work closely with and learn from an internationally renowned, multi-disciplinary team of scientists, researchers, and staff members at ATRI. Students will participate in AD clinical trials focused lecture series, workshops, and team meetings to develop competencies in AD clinical trials research and trials operations, professionalism, effective science communication, and presentation skills.
Students in this track work closely with faculty to develop a hypothesis driven research question and learn how to draft a research plan, analyze, and interpret the data under the guidance of relevant teams.
Fields of interest available are (a) Biostatistics, (b) Translational Neuroscience and Basic Science (Wet-Lab), and (c) Recruitment & Retention Science. Students will be fully integrated into the ATRI network and community and will receive an hourly compensation of $25.00.
The ATRI Student Summer Research Program’s Undergraduate Track encourages undergraduate students, in their Junior or Senior year, with interest in academic and clinical research to apply. Please note that students graduating in Spring 2026 but not enrolled in an academic program for the Fall 2026 term, are not eligible to apply.

- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program through Fall 2026.

The application portal will open on January 5, 2026. All materials must be submitted through the Online Application Portal by 5:00 PM PST January 31, 2026. Applications will not be reviewed until after the application deadline has passed. Selected students will be notified in early March 2026.
