Spring 2026 Internship Opportunity – Brave New Films
Brave New Films is a nonprofit social justice media organization committed to nonpartisan advocacy on urgent human rights issues—including war, racial justice, climate change, reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ rights, voting rights, and economic inequality. With over one million active social media followers and hundreds of millions of views annually, we use film and digital storytelling to educate, engage, and drive meaningful change.
We are currently working on a series of campaigns focused on the war in Gaza and immigrant rights in the United States. We are seeking passionate, socially conscious interns for Spring 2026 who are eager to contribute to this work.

Timing: Spring 2026
Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Format: Fully remote
Compensation: Unpaid, in exchange for college credit

Social Media Intern
Are you passionate about using social media to tell powerful stories and drive change? As a Social Media Intern at Brave New Films, you’ll help create compelling short-form video content that brings attention to urgent social justice issues.
Responsibilities:
- Edit vertical short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram, and other platforms
- Track and apply current trends, audio, and visual styles
- Work with the production and digital teams to quickly turn around content
- Contribute fresh, creative ideas tailored to a politically engaged audience
Ideal Candidate:
- Proficient in editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, etc.)
- Knowledge of social media culture, trends, and content strategy
- Passionate about activism, advocacy, and storytelling
- Able to work quickly, independently, and meet deadlines
Production & Research Intern
This role is ideal for someone passionate about media, current events, and strong research. You’ll work closely with our production team to source and organize high-quality materials that support our storytelling.
Responsibilities:
- Research and compile news articles, studies, statistics, and policy materials
- Locate and organize archival video, photos, and audio for use in production
- Fact-check and ensure all materials are properly cited
- Adapt quickly to shifting timelines and project needs
Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent research, sourcing, and fact-checking skills
- Familiarity with credible news outlets and academic databases
- Interest in documentary filmmaking and progressive politics
- Strong organization and communication skills
Immigrant Rights Campaign Intern
This internship focuses specifically on Brave New Films’ immigration and deportation campaign. You’ll help expose injustices in U.S. immigration enforcement through deep research and content support.
Responsibilities:
- Research immigration policy, enforcement practices, and asylum law
- Source court cases, legislation, reports, and news stories related to deportation
- Assist in curating and organizing footage, interviews, and supporting material
- Help shape narratives that center immigrant voices and human rights
Ideal Candidate:
- Passionate about immigrant rights and social justice
- Familiar with immigration law, asylum policy, and detention practices
- Able to handle sensitive material with care and professionalism
- Strong critical thinking and research skills
Outreach & Research Intern
This role is ideal for someone passionate about media, storytelling, and strong research. You’ll work directly with our outreach director to assist on a variety of tasks connected to outreach, media production and research while also taking initiative on independent assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Research and compile news articles, studies, statistics, and policy materials
- Locate and organize archival video, photos, and audio for production use
- Draft and refine written materials with clarity and accuracy
- Fact-check and ensure all sources are properly cited
- Manage your workload efficiently and adapt to shifting project needs
Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent writing, research, and fact-checking skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Tech-savvy; comfortable using Google Suite and Microsoft Office
- Strong awareness of current events and news (a plus)
- Basic knowledge of Spanish (a plus)
- Strong organization and communication skills
