GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN
The National Comedy Center is currently seeking candidates for its 2026 internship program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience at an award-winning non-profit cultural institution and national destination. The state-of-the-art National Comedy Center was recently named the “Best New Museum” in the country by USA Today and one of the “World’s Greatest Places” by TIME magazine.
The Marketing and Communications Design Intern will assist the Marketing team in designing promotional materials and social media content to build brand awareness for the National Comedy Center, as well as assist in designing materials for the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August.
This internship will be on-site in Jamestown, NY, for the Summer 2026 season with the potential for extension beyond the summer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for supporting the marketing department's projects across digital and print channels:
- Assist in designing and distributing promotional brochures, posters, and other marketing materials.
- Digital design collateral includes social media marketing graphics, email campaigns, website assets, custom landing pages using our CMS, paid display ads, etc.
- Works closely with the lead Graphic Designer on all aspects of the design process, including layout, typography, color, production, etc.
- Perform other duties as appropriate and necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be familiar with adhering to brand standards and guidelines.
- Strong typography & layout skills.
- Master knowledge of Adobe Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
- Interest in social media marketing & digital design.
- Interest in event photography a plus.
- Experience with WordPress and website design is a plus.
- Successful candidates should have access to reliable transportation, as the position involves distribution of marketing materials.
- Ability to commit to 15-20 hours per week; hours are flexible.
- All interns must complete at least 4 hours each week on the museum floor to learn attraction operations, interact with visitors, and increase comedy knowledge.
- Hours may increase to full-time during the week before and the week of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival in August; schedules can be arranged with a supervisor.
- Interns will use their personal laptops during the internship; alternate arrangements can be discussed upon acceptance.
