Free Pilot Ecology Field Class

This is a pilot field ecology course designed to test and refine new hands-on training modules.

Participants will learn basic field ecology skills—including camera trapping, line transect surveys, and introductory telemetry—while also providing feedback to help shape the final curriculum for future classes.

This opportunity is perfect for students who want to gain field experience and be part of developing new educational programming.

No experience required.

What You Will Learn

• How to set and program wildlife camera traps
• Conducting line transect surveys
• Basics of radio telemetry
• Field safety and ethical wildlife practices
• Recording field notes and ecological observations
• Introduction to urban wildlife and mangrove ecosystems

Your Role in the Pilot Course

Participants will:

• Learn the field skills described above
• Participate in field sessions to test lesson plans
• Provide constructive feedback on:
  
  • Clarity of instruction
  • Skill difficulty
  • Flow and timing of activities
  • What worked and what should be improved
     
• Help refine future course materials and training structures

Your input directly shapes the official curriculum.

Dates: December 15-17, 2025. You do not have to attends all three days.
