About Us

Artz for the Harp (AFTH) is a growing arts and STEAM education organization serving youth across Georgia. We provide high-quality music, arts, and enrichment programs in schools, libraries, community centers, and our AFTH Creative Collective.
We are expanding and seeking talented, dependable, mission-driven educators to join our team.

We are hiring two levels of positions:

1️⃣ Lead Instructors

2️⃣ Assistant Instructors

Both roles support our programs in:

🎶 Music (Harp, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Viola, Cello and General Music)
💻 Coding (Scratch, beginner Python, robotics, STEM activities)
♟️ Chess
📚 Academic Tutoring
🇪🇸 Spanish Language Enrichment

1️⃣ Lead Instructor Position

Role Summary

Lead Instructors take the primary role in teaching classes, guiding student learning, managing classroom flow, and assisting with planning lessons. This position is ideal for educators, teaching artists, experienced tutors, and college students with strong subject mastery.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging group lessons in your subject area
  • Lead class activities, demonstrations, and hands-on learning
  • Maintain classroom management and a positive atmosphere
  • Prepare lesson materials and coordinate activities
  • Support student progress and communicate effectively with staff
  • Assist with recitals, coding demos, chess tournaments, or showcases
  • Oversee Assistant Instructors, interns, and volunteers

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in your subject (music, coding, chess, tutoring, or Spanish)
  • Prior teaching or leadership experience (school, camps, after-school, or private lessons)
  • Ability to manage groups of students aged K–12
  • Clear communication and organizational skills
  • Must pass a background check

2️⃣ Assistant Instructor Position

Role Summary

Assistant Instructors support Lead Instructors in daily class operations. This role is perfect for emerging educators, advanced high school students, and college students looking to gain teaching experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with classroom setup and materials
  • Support Lead Instructor in group instruction
  • Provide one-on-one help to students
  • Help with classroom behavior, transitions, and safety
  • Assist with arts & enrichment activities during camps
  • Support small groups during tutoring, chess practice, coding exercises, or music rotations

Qualifications

  • Some knowledge or skill in your chosen subject area
  • Comfortable working with children
  • Positive attitude, dependable, and coachable
  • Must pass a background check

Hours & Schedule

  • Flexible part-time schedules
  • Summer camps (June–July)
  • After-school programs (August–May)
  • Weekend workshops
  • Opportunities for year-round work

Compensation

Lead Instructors: Competitive hourly rate depending on experience
Assistant Instructors: Hourly rate or stipend depending on program
