Social Media Associate

The New Jersey Infrastructure Bank (I-Bank) is seeking a creative and motivated college student to assist with social media content creation, posting, and engagement, and the digital marketing of its public infrastructure financing programs.

This role is ideal for a student interested in communications, public relations, marketing, or public service who wants hands-on experience managing professional social media and marketing channels. The student associate will collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Administrator to implement I-Bank’s social media strategy in alignment with established standard operating procedures (SOPs), helping to increase the organization’s visibility and engagement across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions to support marketing initiatives.
  • Draft, schedule, and post content across I-Bank’s social media platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook) following approved guidelines.
  • Collaborate with internal staff to develop content which highlights I-Bank programs, projects, and events.
  • Create simple graphics or visuals using approved templates (e.g., Canva, Photoshop).
  • Monitor social media engagement and compile basic performance analytics and insights.
  • Research industry trends, new media applications, and peer organizations to inform social media strategy and content ideas.
  • Maintain a consistent posting schedule and ensure adherence to I-Bank’s social media SOP.

Qualifications

  • Currently a college student working toward a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing/social media.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of, and experience with, major social media platforms and current digital trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative approach to design layout and visual impact. 
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
