Graphic Design Intern
JOB DESCRIPTION
Strategic Results is looking for a Graphic Design Intern. The intern will assist in the creation of visual concepts that translate requirements into visually engaging and innovative solutions for a wide range of content, publications, promotional materials, briefings, interactive and multimedia projects, illustrations, and experiential graphics. The intern will also support specialized design tasks including materials and website design, editing, updating, and general design changes.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conceptualizing complex information and presenting it in a clear and easily understandable design for customer documents, presentations and briefs, printed marketing and communications materials, and websites.
- Support the layout and design of digital and physical material such as forms, newsletters, brochures, flyers, animated graphics, logos, event programs, pamphlets, annual reports, and announcements, ensuring consistency with customer requirements; collaborate with Senior Graphic Developer or managers as needed.
- Ensure overall style or tone, type, font size, color and line length of headlines, headings and text for web sites desired for each project; collaborate with Senior Graphic Developer or other managers as needed.
- Create or edit images such as illustrations, graphics, photographs, animation or charts and graphs.
- Prepare and deliver communications and marketing products including fact sheets, infographics, presentations, visual aids, interactive PDFs, progress reports, and web elements in accordance with design specifications and brand guidelines.
- Perform word test to ensure the customer’s desired message and image is conveyed to the intended audience.
- Explore and develop new ideas, techniques, products, and creative solutions.
- Support development of website templates, custom page layouts, and user interface elements of various widgets and modules as needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of the principles design and typography.
- Familiar with responsive web design concepts.
- Ability to create visual concepts, to communicate ideas clearly and effectively.
- Ability to develop the overall layout and production design for advertisements, brochures, magazines and reports.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of HTML.
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Publisher.
- Excellent teamwork, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Experience:
- Coursework or project experience in graphic design or related fields.
- Familiarity with producing layouts and visual materials for print and digital platforms.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and other design tools gained through academic projects or prior internships preferred.
Education: Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Art, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
