History of Art & Material Culture Internship

Experience the dynamic world of auction at one of the fastest-growing, respected companies in the Midwest. Our team of nearly 30 professionals assess, handle, and sell thousands of diverse objects annually ranging from fine, folk, and outsider art to historical ephemera, antique and decorative furnishings, and everything in between.

In this hands-on position, you will:

  • learn the ins and outs of handling a wide variety of material;
  • identify the best online tools and ai resources to aptly research and assess objects from dozens of categories;
  • network with private individuals and industry pros from throughout the country.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of undergraduate coursework completed;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with Google-based software, internet browsers required;
  • Some experience with research preferred;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, equipment and/or material moving may be required. Frequent and repetitive office tasks include typing, using a computer monitor or laptop, and communicating by telephone. Other physical activities may be required.
