Eradicate Hate Programs Internship

About our internship program –  
The Eradicate Hate internship program helps shape the next generation of professionals in violence prevention through meaningfully contributing to our programs, working groups, and the Global Summit. 

We offer students and recent graduates paid internships for up to 14 weeks each spring, summer, and fall to help us drive the development and deployment of effective approaches to reduce hate-fueled violence.  

We seek undergraduates, graduate students, PhD candidates, and JD candidates from across disciplines to support our work. We highly encourage those in mental and behavioral health, public policy, law, education, sociology, criminology, communications, data science, digital development, marketing and PR, and graphic design to apply. 

Our internship program is offered entirely remote or hybrid in Pittsburgh or Washington, D.C. Interns receive a stipend of $4,000 and are expected to contribute between 25-35 hours per week. All eligible candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. 


Programs Internship

Position Overview:

We are looking for a dedicated Programs Intern to join our team and support our Eradicate Hate programs and initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of programs focused on violence prevention, community engagement, and education. The ideal candidate will assist in program planning, outreach, partner coordination, and the development of online educational materials and resources.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, implementation, and measurement of Eradicate Hate’s year-round programs and working groups
  • Develop graphics, videos, flyers, and other visualizations to support marketing efforts for Eradicate Hate’s initiatives and impact
  • Compile and analyze both market and academic research to support program design and implementation
  • Assist in outreach for and development of the Prevention Practitioners Network, including mental and behavioral health sectors, law enforcement, education, and community services
  • Serve as a liaison between partner organizations and Eradicate Hate, particularly in promoting and expanding the Preventing Practitioners Network and Eradicate Hate’s youth-serving initiatives, including UP End Hate and SCREEN Hate
  • Draft and post online content for the UP End Hate and SCREEN Hate social media accounts and external websites

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • A background in violence prevention, public safety, or public health
  • Familiarity with online / social media content creation and graphic design tools
  • Experience with open-source research, academic journals, and literature reviews
  • Program coordination and/or communications experience strongly preferred
