Marketing Support Specialist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Marketing Support Specialist to join our growing team at The Selfhelp Home. This position is designed to provide dedicated support to our Development & Marketing Associate, allowing our team to focus more strategically on growth initiatives while maintaining strong marketing and communications efforts.

As our Marketing Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in telling our story and supporting the marketing activities that help families discover the exceptional care and community we provide.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional or a student to gain comprehensive marketing experience in the meaningful nonprofit senior care sector. You'll work closely with our Development & Marketing Associate and agency partners to support marketing and development initiatives that showcase our community's unique market position and quality of care.

This position reports to the Development & Marketing Associate and collaborates closely with the Sales Director and Chief Growth Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with email & direct mail marketing campaigns and newsletter distribution
  • Update website content and ensure accuracy of information
  • Support search engine optimization efforts
  • Photograph resident activities, capture day-to-day life at Selfhelp for marketing purposes
  • Catalogue and maintain photo collection
  • Support event marketing, coordination and promotional activities
  • Assist with external vendors and contractors
  • Manage marketing supply inventory and ordering
  • Help with marketing database management and updates

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate or near completion of bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0-2 years of marketing, communications, or related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative mindset with an eye for visual design
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment

Preferred:

  • Experience with marketing platforms (Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva)
  • Familiarity with content management systems and website updates
  • Understanding of healthcare or senior care industry
  • Experience with photography/videography
