Math Interventionist City of Miami Beach
Start Date: between October 1 and November 15
Hourly rate: $18 per hour
A math interventionist is a specialized individual who provides targeted, supplemental instruction to students struggling to master mathematical concepts and skills.
The City of Miami Beach Contractor will provide math interventions to students in grades 6 through 12. Contractor will design math instruction based on each student’s needs, in order to foster and support math skills.
College students majoring in Math, Computer Science or Engineering are preferred, but students from other fields with a strong math background are also welcome to apply.

Miami Beach Senior High School (school day 7:20 am – 2:20 pm)
Job Responsibilities:
✓ apply what is modeled and learned in tutoring sessions
✓ pre and post assess using informal math instruments or similar methods
✓ identify student math areas of strength and student areas for growth
✓ communicate and work alongside professional certified teachers to support individual student who are identified as needing tutoring intervention
✓ use data driven methods to identify and apply appropriate interventions
✓ develop appropriate, targeted daily agendas and instructional plans (IPs)
✓ monitor and maintain youth progress data
Additionally, interventionists will:
✓ have the opportunity to practice and develop skills in real time setting
✓ arrive on time, stay for duration of designated time frame, report to designated contact person
✓ always wear MDCPS contractor badge
✓ have access to course content and course forms (agenda/time frame & IP) and materials to use during intervention opportunity
✓ have opportunity to develop school/community/faculty/administration networks and professional liaison
