Job Summary:

The Worship Leader is responsible for leading and developing the worship ministry of The Church at Clayton Crossings. This individual will work closely with the Pastors to create engaging and meaningful worship experiences that inspire the congregation to connect with God and grow in their faith. The Worship Leader will oversee all aspects of the Sunday morning worship services, as well as other worship-related events and activities.

Responsibilities:

• Vision and Leadership:
  • Collaborate with the Pastors to develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the worship ministry that aligns with the overall mission and values of The Church at Clayton Crossings.
  • Provide dynamic and Spirit-led leadership to the worship team (musicians, vocalists, tech team, etc.).
  • Recruit, audition, train, and shepherd volunteer worship team members, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and spiritual growth.
  • Develop and oversee the scheduling of worship team members for all services and rehearsals.
• Worship Planning and Execution:
  • Plan and coordinate weekly worship services in collaboration with the Pastor of Worship and Outreach, ensuring a cohesive and meaningful flow.
  • Select music that is theologically sound, congregationally engaging, and stylistically appropriate for the church.
  • Arrange and adapt music as needed to fit the team's capabilities and the needs of the service.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of worship services, including sound, lighting, video, and online streaming, working closely with the tech team.
  • Ensure all elements of the worship service (music, visuals, transitions, etc.) are executed with excellence and attention to detail.
• Team Development and Care:
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment within the worship ministry.
  • Provide regular feedback, encouragement, and opportunities for growth for team members.
  • Organize regular rehearsals that are productive, focused, and spiritually enriching.
  • Address any conflicts or issues within the worship team with grace and wisdom.
• Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Manage the worship ministry budget effectively.
  • Maintain and organize music resources, equipment, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with other ministry leaders to integrate worship into the broader life of the church.
  • Stay current with trends and best practices in worship ministry.
• Other Duties:
  • Participate in staff meetings and church-wide events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor of Worship and Outreach.

Qualifications:

• A clear and mature Christian faith and a commitment to the mission and values of The Church at Clayton Crossings.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and developing worship ministries in a church setting.
• Strong musical abilities, including proficiency in playing a primary instrument (guitar, keyboard, etc.) and vocal leadership.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with pastors, staff, and volunteers.
• Experience with contemporary worship styles and a knowledge of diverse musical genres.
• Familiarity with sound, lighting, and video technology used in worship services.
• A heart for discipleship and a desire to see individuals grow in their relationship with God through worship.
• Bachelor's degree in music, worship ministry, or a related field is preferred but not required with equivalent experience.
