Optics and Electromagnetics Intern

Job Description

 

Silvaco is seeking talented and motivated interns to provide additional resources to our Computational Lithography Solutions team.  This internship offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art computational lithography tools and workflows, providing exposure to model calibration, mask optimization, and large-scale proximity pattern correction (PPC).

Interns will gain practical skills working with wafers, data-driven simulations, and GPU-accelerated software, while preparing for potential full-time opportunities in a cutting-edge semiconductor environment.

*This Internship is 100% remote and can be up to one year 

INTERNS WILL BE TRAINED IN:  

How to use Silvaco acuWafer to calibrate models

Using Silvaco acuView workbench to simulate contour 

Learning Silvaco DPPC flow 

Enhancing acuWafer QA suite 

How to apply GPU acceleration in intensity calculation 

Measuring and enhancing model calibration performance  

Literature study and preparation of EUVL and rigorous mask simulation (such as FDTD)

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 

Candidates should meet the following criteria: 

Working toward a PhD degree in Computer Science, Math, or Physics  

Good knowledge of optics/electromagnetics and optimization concepts 

Good knowledge of GPU development using CUDA libraries. 

Programming skills, preferably in C++, TCL, Python 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Strong communication skills in English

Team player

Layout design concepts

Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing process

The US base hourly range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location, and the range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, role-related knowledge and skills, depth of experience, relevant education or training, and additional role-related considerations.
Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commission, or other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
