Position Overview
GB Connections is seeking a Mechanical Engineer interested in specializing in oil & gas pipe thread design and sustaining engineering. We are open to training the right candidate—this is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to develop highly specialized expertise. You will work on continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, as well as contribute to new product development projects.

This is a full-time, in-office position at our Houston headquarters. Travel requirements are minimal (less than 10%).

Key Responsibilities

  • Support sustaining engineering activities to maintain and improve current product lines through design engineering.
  • Assist with the design and development of new threaded connections and related components.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate performance and optimize designs.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and field service teams to address technical issues.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of designs, testing, and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline (required).
  • Interest in learning oil & gas pipe thread technology and sustaining engineering practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving.
  • Interest or experience in FEA preferred (training will be provided if needed).
