Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Sales Assistant to join our showroom. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys design, loves working with people, and thrives in a collaborative, customer-focused environment. You’ll assist the owner in day-to-day operations, from preparing quotes through to order delivery, marketing efforts, maintaining the showroom presentation, and assisting customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed and accurate client quotes based on project specifications, including square footage, trim pieces, and installation requirements; revise as necessary
- Convert quotes to sales orders in the system, ensuring all product SKUs, quantities, pricing, and customer details are correct
- Provide exceptional follow-up and customer service to ensure a positive client experience throughout the quote and order process, proactively updating clients on order status, delays, or backorders
- Liaise and coordinate with vendor warehouses to coordinate deliveries and ensure orders are complete and accurate
- Assist in showroom client presentations and events, including occasional outside sales appointments
- Initiate client follow-ups after appointments and sample pulls
- Assist in various marketing efforts: newsletters, store event planning, and capturing content for social media (photos & video); experience using Canva and Instagram editing features is a plus
- Greet and assist clients as they visit the showroom, ensuring a warm and professional experience
- Prepare and organize tile samples, displays, and design boards
- Maintain a clean, visually appealing showroom environment
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in retail, showroom sales, or interior design is preferred; interior design students encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Enthusiastic about design and eager to learn about tile materials and applications
- Proficient in basic computer programs (MS Office; familiarity with Studio Manager software is a plus)
- Able to climb a ladder to adjust displays and lift up to 30-50 lbs
