CNC Router Operator
The CNC Router Operator is a key member of Wendover’s Fabrication Team, responsible for turning digital concepts into physical components that support our artwork production. This role blends precision machining with creative problem-solving and process efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, an eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence in documentation, productivity, and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and optimize CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., VCarve, Fusion 360) and configure machine setups for precision and efficiency.
- Operate CNC routers across various materials, ensuring consistent, high-quality production with thorough in-process and final inspections.
- Identify and implement workflow improvements to boost productivity, reduce waste, and collaborate with teams to streamline fabrication processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tool usage, and production metrics to support process consistency and performance analysis.
- Perform routine CNC machine maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and monitor tool wear and calibration to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operation.

What Else Do We Look For?
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of hands-on experience programming and operating CNC routers using software such as VCarve, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with materials like wood, acrylic, foam board, and composite substrates.
- Strong knowledge of machine setup, tooling selection, and cutting parameter optimization.
- Experience performing precise quality inspections using measurement tools (calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to implement workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Proficiency in documenting CNC programs, setup sheets, and production logs for process consistency.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with a commitment to maintaining clean and safe work environments.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
