Biological Science Assistant (Wildlife Check-In/District Assistant)

Hiring one seasonal position in Corvallis with anticipated duration of September 15, 2025 – December 19, 2025.

As a Biological Science Assistant (Wildlife Check-In / District Assistant) in Corvallis, Oregon, you will provide technical support for the district’s wildlife check-in program by verifying license, tag, and permit information, collecting biological samples, and summarizing and tabulating data necessary for monitoring compliance of take. Accurate and timely data gathering and summarization are critical to providing hunting opportunities and to support wildlife programs. The secondary purpose of this position is to support other District functions (e.g., population monitoring through spotlighting or trail cameras, addressing human-wildlife conflict, entering and summarizing survey data) utilizing other funds.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with these skills and background:

Experience working in the office and field settings

Experience recording field data in all types of weather conditions

Experience conducting wildlife surveys

Computer skills

Customer service skills

Anyone who has or is in pursuit of a Fisheries or Wildlife Science degree or related degree in biological/ecological sciences.

The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%

The employee in this position will be represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and will be subject to all terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Pay and benefits on all job listings may change without notice
