Student UGC Content Creator

We’re seeking speedy, creative college students to film and edit engaging videos that bring our new browser to life. You are in control of the commitment, but we are looking for students able to produce videos on a weekly basis.

We will provide starting scripts and guidance, but are looking for students interested in adding personal-spins, developing new creative ideas, and finding use-cases that resonate deeply with students. You will be paid on a per-video basis.

There are three responsibilities you could take on:

Deliver polished 30-second Reels/TikToks/Shorts (UGC style) - this is our primary focus

  1. For each concept you’ll get 1 main body script.
  2. Film 5 unique hooks and stitch each to the body—resulting in 5 videos per concept.
  3. Incorporate visual elements such as screen overlays and live product demos.

Capture grass-roots footage around campus

  1. Film Comet in action on campus in a more personable, casual style

Produce crisp screen demos showcasing key student uses cases.

  1. Record high-quality screen recordings showing how Comet can help students
  2. These assets may be used in other UGC videos or in broader marketing campaigns

You are:

  • Tech-savvy undergraduate who cares about showcasing the best productivity, AI, and tech tools to students
  • Engaging and relatable storyteller with a creative eye for short-form video trends and how to win over students
  • Prior experience producing Reels/TikToks that mix live footage and screen recordings
  • Comfortable video editing in CapCut (or similar)
  • Thrive in fast turn-around environments—can shoot, edit, and iterate quickly from feedback.
  • Collaborative mindset; eager to pitch fresh hooks, angles, and student-centric use cases.

Logistics:

  • Compensation: paid per completed video with no limit. We expect the top creators to earn up to $1500 a month.
  • Schedule: 100% remote and fully flexible, but able to produce deliverables at about a 1 week turnaround
  • Equipment: bonus if you have a mic, lights, or external camera, but all you really need is a smartphone with a good camera. We will not provide filming equipment.
  • Software: we expect the ideal candidate to already be set up with the proper editing stack. However, we can reimburse the cost of editing tools if necessary.
  • Perplexity Max: while you are working for us, we will provide you with free Perplexity Max ($200/mo value)
  • Usage rights: Perplexity has full ownership to the content, account, and perpetual recut and distribution rights along with access to run partnership ads.

Bonuses- if you have a solid audience and/or want to post the content to your accounts, you can receive bonuses based on the following milestones

  • 100K views on one video = +$150
  • 1Million views on one video = +$500 | +25 Comet Invites
  • 100k followers = +$1,000 | +50 Comet Invites
  • 10 Million cumulative views in month = +$2,500 | +100 Comet Invites
  • 25 Million cumulative views in a month = +5,000 | + 100 Comet Invites
  • High performing student creators with their own audiences will be invited to join the Comet Creator Program
