The California Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board’s Sacramento office has an opening for a Senior Environmental Scientist (ES) Specialist performing duties related to the Storm Water Program at the Regional Board with a focus on compliance, enforcement, collaboration, and education., under the Compliance & Enforcement Section. The position is located at 11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670.

Under the general direction of a Supervising Water Resource Control Engineer and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.

 

Duties:

The incumbent will be the principal technical specialist on storm water issues for the Regional Board, with a focus on industrial and construction storm water compliance and related issues. The incumbent will also provide outreach and education to regulated entities. The Senior ES Specialist will advise Regional Board staff and Management on stormwater permit compliance issues and help guide the prioritization of sites needing additional actions. The Senior ES must be able to work independently to complete tasks, work effectively within a team environment, and communicate effectively via a variety of media.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.

Salary: $7,556.00 - $10,221.00 per Month
