Instrument Solutions Intern

Description

Temporary, non-benefited technical position to work exclusively on maintenance and calibration of analytical process control and monitoring instrumentation, benchtop analysis, data analytics, and research efforts. The candidate will work as part of an analytical team executing work under the direction of Technology and Innovation Staff.

Examples of Duties

1. Clean, perform maintenance procedures and calibrate in-process analytical instrumentation

2. Perform benchtop nutrient analyses

3. Record and analyze analytical and process data

4. Coordinate and communicate with other operations and engineering staff

5. Assist with instrument trials and applied research projects

 

Qualifications

Knowledge of:

Basic understanding of Wastewater treatment processes

Good sampling and benchtop analysis techniques

General laboratory and office processes and procedures

MS Office software

 Skilled at:

Good written and oral communication

Working in a laboratory setting

 Ability to:

Ability to follow procedures and best management practices while practicing good judgement

Learn multiple different instrument interfaces, configurations, settings, and applications

Follow workflows and procedures

Multitask and complete work in a timely manner

Perform effectively in a collaborative team environment

 Education

Minimum of three semesters of college education with demonstrated academic performance in coursework in the physical and/or biological sciences, civil and/or environmental engineering fields.
