Position Summary:
Creekwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Flower Mound, Texas, seeks a new music professional to join our collaborative team of talented, committed and supportive colleagues, as Director of Traditional Worship.
This position is employed primarily for musical leadership of the 11:00am Traditional worship service each Sunday morning, which will launch on Sunday, September 7. This position typically requires between 8 and 10 hours per week.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
(Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Senior Minister.)
● Provide musical leadership at the 11 am Traditional service each Sunday morning. This includes coordinating special music, as well as leading congregational singing. The Senior Minister and the Director of Traditional Worship will collaborate together to select the hymns.
● Direct Creekwood’s Chancel Choir- Provide weekly anthems from the choir to
complement the worship experience. These should include a diverse array of musical genres – including popular and secular music.
● Direct Creekwood’s Bell Choir- Provide regular anthems from the Bell Choir to complement the worship experience.
● Lead a weekly rehearsal of choir members on Wednesday evenings
● Lead a weekly rehearsal of Bell Choir members on Wednesday evenings.
● Collaborate with the Senior Minister, the Director of Modern Worship, and other musicians in the area of general planning and leadership. This requires at least one quarterly meeting of the paid music staff with the Senior Minister and regular coordination with the staff musician/accompanist and worship team meetings when available. It also includes assisting in the occasional Youth Worship services led by youth of our congregation.
● Foster clear communications with other members of the Creekwood team to strengthen the ministry of the church.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s of Music (or equivalent experience)
● Experience directing vocal groups with demonstrated conducting/rehearsal skills
● Experience across a variety musical genres
Compensation:
● Compensation Range: $10,000 to $14,000 annually, depending on experience
● Vacation- 4 paid Sundays off each year. All absences must be in writing to the Senior Minister at least two weeks in advance.
● There will be no authorized use of a substitute on Easter Sunday or Christmas Eve.
