Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and personable School & Sports Photographer to join our photography team. The Photographer is responsible for capturing high-quality individual and group portraits of students, staff, and faculty at schools. This position requires someone who can work efficiently and courteously in a fast-paced environment while adhering to the standards and traditions of school portrait photography. 

Key Responsibilities

Travel to assigned schools and arrive promptly at the designated start time, fully prepared with all equipment.

Set up and break down photography equipment, ensuring proper lighting, backdrop, and camera settings.

Photograph students, staff, and class groups in an organized, professional, and timely manner.

Maintain a calm, friendly demeanor with students of all ages and create a comfortable experience to capture genuine smiles and expressions.

Follow company guidelines for posing, framing, and composition to ensure consistency and quality across all images.

Keep an accurate and organized record of all photo sessions and order forms as required.

Handle equipment with care and report any malfunctions or issues immediately.

Uphold the reputation and standards of the company while on school grounds, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct.

Qualifications

Prior photography experience preferred; school or event photography experience is a plus.

Knowledge of DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, and basic photography techniques.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with children, teachers, and parents.

Strong organizational skills and ability to work under time constraints without compromising quality.

Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 30 pounds of equipment.

Willingness to travel to various school locations within the assigned region.

Working Conditions

Early morning start times are typical.

Work is primarily performed on-location at schools, often in gymnasiums, auditoriums, or classrooms.

This is a seasonal position, with peak activity during fall and spring.
