Faculty – Part Time Music Teacher

Job Description

The Music Teacher will be able to inspire and instruct young musicians to read music, sing, recognize famous composers, and so much more. The Music Teacher will instruct two cohorts of students (K-2nd & 3rd-6th) for two half hour sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Music Teacher will also teach about different composers and help instruct students in recognizing famous musicians and a wide variety of instruments. A teacher will serve the school through solid lesson plans, and an engaging teaching style.  A teacher will be able to manage a classroom by loving students through discipline.

Duties/Responsibilities 

• Create a scope and sequence of course instruction
• Submit weekly lesson plans
• Consistently assess students for progress through approved means
• Study all material deeply to become a “living curriculum” 
• Facilitate deep study of music techniques and musicans
• Coach students in a tailored approach to education helping them invest the talent God has given them 
• Enter grades within 48 hours for timely feedback
• Attend all designated faculty trainings
• Attend all designated faculty meetings
• Foster a well-ordered atmosphere through classroom discipleship
• Maintain a well-organized classroom
• Ensure students are active learners both mentally and physically.

• A robust background and skill in music and a willingness to study and present intentionally
• A deep understanding of musical techniques and musicians and ability perform musical songs
• A love of God’s creation that is communicated effectively
• A desire to train and equip the next generation
• A natural intuition in the classroom
• Able to lead a small classroom in a loving and disciplined manner.
• Able to patiently mentor through discipleship
• Music Degree or equivalent experience
