Fall Health Communications Intern
The Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) is seeking a fall intern to provide communications and research support on projects and advocacy related to Medicaid managed care, Medicare, and the health insurance Marketplace. This position offers an excellent opportunity to be a part of a leading organization committed to increasing access to quality health services for people with lower incomes or significant health needs. The position requires excellent verbal, computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Successful candidates must be self-motivated and able to work independently.

ACAP is a national trade association representing 85 not-for-profit Safety Net Health Plans, serving more than 30 million individuals, including one-third of Medicaid enrollees in Medicaid-focused health plans. Internship Description
The intern will be responsible for supporting the communications staff on a variety of tasks, which may include assisting with website and social media management, newsletter production, editing public-facing materials, and other communications initiatives. The intern will learn important written and digital communications skills as well as be exposed to a dynamic and growing health policy organization.
Qualifications
To be eligible for the internship, an applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have an interest in communications and public relations. The intern will work 10-12.5 hours a week at a rate of $17.95 per hour at the ACAP office in Washington, D.C. - some remote work is allowed. The internship would begin in September and continue through December.
