Interior Design Internship

Location: New York City | In-Person | Part-Time or Full-Time

Chris Shao Studio, a boutique interior design firm based in New York City, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our team. This is a hands-on learning opportunity ideal for current students or recent graduates of Interior Design or Architecture programs who are eager to gain real-world experience across high-end residential, hospitality, and multi-family development projects.

You’ll support the design team at all levels—including the Principal and Studio Manager—on both creative and administrative tasks, with exposure to all phases of the design process.

Qualifications:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and both Mac/PC platforms

Strong work ethic, time management, and communication skills

Interest in materiality, detailing, and specification is a plus

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

Rhino and Enscape

Familiarity with the D&D Building

Positive, professional attitude

Proactive and team-oriented mindset
